Five Things I Learned from Communications
1. I learned how to create and edit an audio project with the use of Audacity, a program in which I had never heard of.
2. I learned how to properly edit a video without taking out the most essential information yet still making it interesting enough to capture and contain the audiences interest.
3. I learned that interpersonal communications is linked hand in hand with public relations, or any other type of media for that matter. I might take some interpersonal courses in the near future.
4. I learned the importance of networking. Although I didn’t find Tumblr to best the best of use, I do understand the use of Twitter and Facebook since they are more popular and less complex to use. Those are the places that businesses, cooperates and big time companies are looking towards for hiring, improvements and future work. Networking is with the future lies.
5. I learned the theater and comedy also falls under a communications. I was under the impression that it would fall under art history of some sort. I was very impressed at how much hard it takes to create stand-ups, even as short as a 30 minute stand up for a new comedian it can take over a month to prepare.
Jobs/Companies I’d Like to Work For
The three companies I’d like to work for are as follows:
UNITED STATES AIR FORCE: PUBLIC AFFAIRS
1. The first job that I would like to work for is one that I am fully aware that I have once I graduate with my associates degree; Air Force Public Affairs Officers. This is a job that consists of a short percentage in the Air Force. To achieve this position it is very complicated. The job requires background in voice/speech production, media writing, management and being bilingual. It consists of managing and organizing any of the Air Force air shows, writing and recording any military information or news that is provided to the civilians, writing and editing any briefings for all cadre members. Many times you will have a very small staff of 1-15 members to help with everything that needs to get done. This position allows much opportunity to travel and meet many people with that maintain a high status.
THE 700 CLUB
2. The second company that I would love to work in is CBN; specifically I would like to work in, on, or with “The 700 Club”. This is a channel that never ceases to amaze me. It is a Christian news channel that is hosted by Pat Robertson. Most of the news is world wide providing inspiration to whoever watches it. It has been on for over 50 years, and as a faithful Christian myself I would love to one day have the opportunity to help this show find new stories to provide to viewers. Not only does this show provide news and fun and interactive ways to involve the family, but it also gives it viewers something most news channels don’t; it provides its viewers hope, that although things in may seem like they are going in the wrong direction, the will always be a light at the end of the tunnel.
H&M MAGAZINE/COMPANY
3. The last company on my list of three is H&M. I would love to work in the advertising department of H&M. Three years back I was a manager for Perry Ellis. During my time there I had many gentlemen that would come in bi-weekly to have my coordinate clothes for them and they would spend hundreds of dollars at a time. There was one gentleman who began to ask me questions about my methods of dressing men, and then it turned to dress wear for women, and soon enough he was asking how I felt about working for H&M in interior design. It all came as much of a shock when I learned that this man was a regional manager for H&M. He wanted me to be the interior design manager for the Manhattan store on 34th St. They would have started me off at $65 thousand a year. I was shocked, but sadly had to deny the proposal because it would not allow me to continue with my schooling. If I ever am I allowed this opportunity once I graduate I would take it and use all that I have learned during my time in school. I would like to go in more towards their magazines. Every month they have a magazine with the best images of some of the top fashion at reasonable prices. Articles may include where and who wore the outfits. This Swedish clothing company has made their clothes vastly appreciated, and I would love to be a part of its growth.
Sadly Dead and Gone
Ednalee Serrano, born unto both Marilyn Gonzalez and Eduardo Serrano on September 12th 1990, was raised in a small Puerto-Rican household where she grew up for majority of her early childhood.
However at a young age, Ednalee took lessons from the “school of life” and often found that she had to teach herself many things, which eventually molded her into becoming the extremely intelligent and responsible young lady that everyone knew her as. After pursuing her doctorates degree in Interpersonal Relations she went on to serve her country by joining the United States Air Force holding her highest position of Colonel. Sadly, on the evening of October 16, 2011, a hooded man who was later apprehended, cornered her, where she was shot and killed.
Today as her friends, family, and service members morn her untimely death everyone that knew Ednalee can say that even though she came in a small package her sole being towered higher than everyone else. Today we say farewell to a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, loved-one and hero. May she forever rest in peace.
3 Places I’d Like to Visit Before I Die
Fiji: I have always wanted to go to Fiji since the first time I was informed that the Fiji water that I was drinking came from a the place Fiji. I thought it was the best water ever, and once I started to do research on the island, I fell in love. If I ever get married I’d like my honeymoon to be there.
Greece: I have studied much of the Greek history and it’s full of such beauty. My friends that have visited all brag about how much fun it was and how delicious the food is. I can’t wait to some day visit Greece and all of its accompanying islands.
Tasmania: This place struck my interest at a very young ge while I was watching the Discovery Channel. Apparently, this is one of the only locations in the world that has animals that are nearly extinct, and animals that that are mixed (ex. cheetah/leopard).
My Top 5 Favorite Possesions
My Bible: It’s the one item that can bring me both peace and understanding anytime I read it. It contains, the almost undecipherable, words of wisdom and knowledge.
My Motorola Cliq XT: I know it might be time for an upgrade soon, but my phone is an essential part of my life. It helps me do everything from homework to traveling. I am constantly on my phone whether its taking care of business or conversing with an old friend. I’m not saying I can’t live without it, but it seems virtually impossible.
My Gateway Candy Apple Notebook: This little note book is my life. I am constantly on the computer getting work done. I bring it with me just about anywhere, and because it’s so small an lightweight, I can fit it in just about any bag I have. It compliments my size an attitude- cute and tough.
My Uniform: Every time I put it on it reminds me what I now live for. Defending my country, family, friends, and wing men is not just my duty, but my ambition to do greater, be greater and succeed. It doesn’t show my character, but it provides my name, status, and branch. “U.S. AIR FORCE” is what the stitching above the left side blouse pocket says. It’s something that I’m more than proud of. HUA!!!

My Winks (My Tennie Beanie Baby): I’ve had this little light blue/gray elephant bear for about 5 years now. It was given to me by a very special person. His soft material both inside and out makes my feel calm. Since, the day he became mine, I have never gone a night without him (with the exception of field training). He’s my baby.

I Love nature : ) But, since I’m not that great at climbing trees, I’ll just enjoy the view
